Han-Tek, Inc.and Koch Container

VICTOR, NY - Han-Tek, Inc., an automation and integrated material handling solutions provider, provided Koch Container with conveyor and automation services for the Victor packaging company. Koch Container acquired the services of Han-Tek to reprogram their PLC controls, as well as reconfigure, relocate and add conveyors to their manufacturing facility.

The custom designed system has the ability to handle multiple stacks of corrugated packaging weighing up to 1,000 lbs from both existing and new machines through the relocated strappers. Additionally, the system is capable of handling loads up to 60"W x 60"D from the high speed machines and 115" W x.72" D from the remaining machines.

According to Project Manager, Craig VanHarken, "Han-Tek re-designed the conveyor system to handle the greater complexity of additional high speed production while doubling the strapping capacity of the existing system. By having the entire processes controlled by multiple PLCs, it results in quicker responses, greater consistency of throughput and less human error. It is important to note that Han-Tek is re-using as much existing equipment as possible, simply making updates and modifications and not disguarding any reusable capital assets. This project will allow Koch Container to handle the increase in production and complexity that comes along with it seamlessly".

As Koch Container continues its growth in the Rochester community, it seems that Han-Tek will be there to assist them in that endeavor. Both are local companies who are fostering economic development within the Greater Rochester area and want to see it prosper in the years to come.
