Han-Tek Develops Soft Drop System for Plastipak
VICTOR, NY, May 18, 2010- Upstate New York integrated material handling and automation solutions provider Han-Tek, Inc. provided services for a Soft Drop© Preform Handling System for PlastiPak Packaging's Victorville, CA facility.
The Soft Drop© Preform Handling System is designed to function as a part of the Gaylord Filling Cell Conveyors by interfacing with any injection mold machine. Hundreds of perform parts come out of the injection mold machine and are dumped onto the injection mold conveyor underneath. At this point, the conveyor drives the perform parts forward, thus, dropping them onto the incline conveyors where they are brought up to an elevation and dropped into the Gaylord filling conveyor.
As soon as the perform parts reach the Gaylord Conveyor, they are dropped into four different stations; one on each end and two on the side. The fourth station is mainly used for rejects, but can also be used for Gaylord fill. The Gaylord filling system diverts and reverses filling one Gaylord at a time.
