New Combination and Demolition Hammers Raise Industry Standard by Seven

Today, Bosch Power Tools permanently changed the way professionals gauge hammer performance, innovative features and durability with the introduction of seven new Bosch hammers including: two Bosch 1 9/16 - inch SDS-max® Combination Hammers, two Bosch 1 9/16-inch Spline Combination Hammers, two SDS-max Demolition Hammers and one Round Hex Demolition Hammer.

Combination Hammers - 11241EVS 1 9/16-inch SDS-max & 11248EVS 1 9/16-inch Spline At around 14 pounds and powered by 11-amp motors, the 11241EVS SDS-max and 11248EVS Spline 1 9/16 -inch units stand out in any group. In hammer-only mode, Bosch Turbo(tm) Power boosts each unit's impact energy 20 to 40 percent over previous models, or 3.6 to 7.4 foot-pounds. While in rotary hammer mode, professionals command 1.5 to 6.2 foot-pounds of impact energy, enough to handle an array of applications. And with 1,700 to 3,300 BPM, 0-170 to 340 RPM, and Bosch Constant Response(tm) Circuitry providing soft starts and maintaining a
constant speed under load, tasks like Thru-Hole and core drilling by electricians and plumbers become nearly effortless.

"This new line of Bosch hammers has been passionately engineered to exceed the expectations of our already demanding users. In fact, our new line shatters previous standards by which all other hammers will be measured," said Randall Coe, director of Bosch product marketing and development.

Where extraordinary power exists, extraordinary controls need to
follow. Both units include the Bosch patented Auto-Max® Dial, which gives the user control over the maximum speed and power output of the unit. To eliminate any guesswork, the special electrical design ensures the tool starts at the highest level every time it is plugged in, and the power light indicator ensures the user that the power feed is live. The "Combination" Dual Mode Selector easily converts each unit from rotary hammer to hammer- only mode. In rotary hammer mode, a variable speed trigger allows the professional user added control. Once hammer -
only mode is selected, the trigger becomes lock-on for maximum
efficiency and comfort.

Designed for professionals, Bosch engineers tools for durability and long life. One of the most common repairs made to any power tool involves cord replacement, but the new Bosch patented cord turret helps alleviate this problem with added flexibility and reduced cord-wear. In addition, both units boast a 12-position Vario-Lock(tm) tool holder system, and the SDS-max unit was manufactured with the Bosch boron nitrate hardening process to increase tool holder surface hardness for unmatched durability. Not only do all the new hammers last, but professionals using the new Bosch combination 11241EVS and 11248EVS hammers will also work at peak performance with the new vibration dampening handle. The special design reduces vibration up to 40 percent
and provides uncompromising comfort for extended periods of work.

To ensure long tool life, all power tools need regular preventative maintenance. The new Bosch hammers offer two features to make this process both quick and effortless on the part of the user. First, each hammer alerts the user by illuminating its Service Minder(tm) Light when preventative maintenance becomes necessary. And to cut back on downtime, Bosch specifically designed easily accessible service modules
so qualified service technicians can quickly replace brushes and
perform repairs. In the end tools last longer and more work can
continue virtually undisturbed.

More Combination Hammers - 11240 1 9/16-inch SDS-max & 11247 1 9/16-inch Spline The Bosch 11240 SDS-max and 11247 Spline 1 9/16-inch units round out the new line of Bosch combination hammers. Ten-amp motors give both units 5.2 foot-pounds of impact energy, 400 RPM, and 3000 BPM. Pest control and installation/maintenance professionals will find the little more' than 13 pound units perfect for drilling holes for chemical insertions or for installing large equipment or racks.

Other features include a "Combination" Dual Mode Selector, ergonomic handle, lock-on trigger, service modules, and a 12-position SDS-max or Spline Vario-Lock tool holder. The 11240 SDS-max unit's tool holder includes the Bosch boron nitrate hardening process for unmatched durability.

All four of the new Bosch combination hammers have a 1 9/16-inch solid bit capacity, 2 1/2-inch Thru-Hole capacity and 4-inch core bit capacity.

Demolition Hammers - 11318EVS SDS-max, 11388 SDS-max & 11387 Round Hex Demolition, electrical, remodeling, plumbing and HVAC contractors will truly appreciate the performance the new Bosch demolition hammers offer. And for those who question whether to use a demolition hammer or a combination hammer in hammer-only mode for large projects, these three demolition hammers provide the answer. Two to three pounds lighter than a combination hammer, the new demolition hammers remove 350 to 400 pounds of 5000 PSI concrete per hour, where as a typical 1 1/2-inch combination hammer only removes 175 to 225 pounds per hour. And since time is money, professionals appreciate the difference this makes to their bottom line.

The 11318EVS 11-amp motor delivers 8.8 foot-pounds of impact energy, the highest in its class, with 1,300 to 3,000 BPM. Like the 11241EVS, the 11318EVS includes the following features: Bosch patented Auto-Max Dial, vibration dampening handle, patented cord turret, service modules, Service Minder Light, power light, Constant Response Circuitry, and an SDS-max tool holder with 12-position Vario-Lock, manufactured with the Bosch boron nitrate hardening process for unmatched durability.

The 11388 SDS-max and 11387 Round Hex units are also similar. Boasting 10-amp motors, both units strike with powerful 5.9 foot-pounds of impact energy at 2,800 BPM. Important features include both unit's service modules, ergonomic handles and lock-on triggers, a 360-degree auxiliary handle, and 12-position Vario-Lock SDS-max and Round Hex tool holders, respectively. Unique to the SDS-max unit is its boron nitrate hardening process for unmatched durability.

All of the new combination and demolition hammers include a Bosch
carrying case, 360-degree auxiliary handle and tool holder lubricant standard.
