Bosch Introduces New High-Torque Cordless Hammer Drills
Chicago - High torque, consistent performance and cordless convenience make the new Bosch 3870-04 18-volt and the Bosch 3670-04 14.4-volt cordless hammer drills the perfect addition to any professional's toolbox.
Beyond mere convenience, the Bosch hammer drills offer the capabilities of three tools - drill, driver and hammer - for carpenters, electricians, maintenance, HVAC and fire protection professionals. With the simple change of a bit, the Bosch cordless hammer drills easily complete tasks such as installing metal studs with light 3/8-inch self Tapping Screws, drilling 1/4-inch holes for tapcons during electric box installation or when strapping duct work on concrete, and creating small diameter holes for plumbing fixtures and metal door frames.
Both Bosch cordless hammer drills offer the highest levels of torque in their class 450 inch-pounds and 425 inch-pounds for the 18 and 14.4 -volt, respectively. A 17-position clutch on each of the tools allows the user to control the desired level of torque for specific applications and to select drill or hammer mode. Each tool features a two-speed gear train, which provides 450 RPM or 1500 RPM. The two-speed gear trains also create powerful hammer action, delivering zero to 5,000 BPM and zero to 17,500 BPM.
Professionals' tools tend to see hard duty, so the Bosch hammer drills boast metal planetary gears and a gearbox with a metal front end. A metal front end allows gearboxes to withstand vibration during hammer mode, dissipate heat easier and effectively reduce wear for an extended life of the tools' clutching mechanisms. A full metal 1/2-inch keyless single sleeve chuck makes one-handed bit changes quick and easy, while the ratcheting function prevents bit slippage.
Designed with soft ergonomic grips for comfort, each of the Bosch cordless hammer drills includes a left or right adjustable handle for better user control during high-torque applications and less user fatigue.
