SUMMARY: Stanley introduces the FatMax® High Tension Hacksaw, a durable heavyweight die-cast, slope-nosed hacksaw designed to take on the toughest cutting jobs. The hacksaw offers quick blade change with a pre-tensioning function and an adjustable thumb-dial tension mechanism that provides tension memory. The hacksaw features a power load sliding tension mechanism to increase leverage and gain greater control when releasing the blade. The Stanley® FatMax® Hacksaw is ergonomically designed with a superior slip-resistant, textured grip and a front grip with thumb rest for additional comfort.
LAS VEGAS, Nevada, January 19, 2004 - Stanley proudly introduces the Stanley® FatMax® High Tension Hacksaw, a heavyweight die-cast hacksaw designed to let the saw do the work while allowing the user to direct and push the saw with both hands to for better cutting performance. The durable, one-piece design allows for extra high tension settings of up to 330 lbs. Other features include an adjustable thumb-dial tension mechanism and a quick and easy blade change feature that work together to provide tension memory so the user doesn't have to re-tension after each blade change. The saw features a 24 tpi, bi-metal blade which allows for flush cutting with its 4.75"/120mm depth cutting capacity.

Another user benefit provided by the design of the FatMax® Hacksaw is found in the longevity of blade life. Unlike common hacksaw frames, the blades do not wobble or flex and snap less quickly because they stay very tense during cutting.
The handle of the Stanley® FatMax(TM) High Tension Hacksaw features a sophisticated blade change mechanism. The sliding arm offers a quick change solution and is able to power load the blade up to 330 lbs, while still retaining full control of the blade. This feature prevents the blade from jumping away. The pre-tension spring hidden inside the frame will maintain the blade in position while tightening the mechanism. The thumb tensioning device will then retain the correct tension for the next blade change and won't need re-setting. This is very handy when switching from regular 90-degree cut to 45-degree flush cuts. The mechanism is locked in both open and closed position to further facilitate blade handling.
An ergonomically designed, bi-material, slip-resistant, textured grip on the hacksaw offers superior comfort for extended use. The grip provides comfortable use in both wet and dry conditions. Unlike common aluminum frame hacksaws, the grip will also protect fingers from the cold metal when working in a cold environment. The closed-grip design also protects the hand during cutting, offering enough room for knuckles and fingers on the inside.
