H.C. Starck Features Ultra 76 Plus Tantalum Alloy at ACHEMA 2015

NEWTON, Mass., – H.C. Starck's Ultra 76 Plus Tantalum alloy combats aggressive, hazardous chemical corrosion in hot concentrated acid applications and will be on display at ACHEMA 2015, Frankfurt, Germany, June 15-19, Hall 5.1, Stand D50. Ultra 76 Plus was designed by H.C. Starck's Fabricated Products Division (FPR). We invite you to meet our Engineering and Technology experts to discuss the benefits of Ultra 76 Plus Tantalum for critical corrosion resistant applications.

H.C. Starck's high tech materials - molybdenum, tungsten, tantalum, niobium, and their alloys, are excellent choices for aggressive temperature and severe environment applications. Tantalum, in particular, is widely used in electronics, chemical processes, and biomedical industries providing cost-effective, long service life solutions for mission-critical components.

Ultra 76 Plus Tantalum alloys are based on the popular Ta2.5%W alloy benefiting corrosion applications by minimizing hydrogen embrittlement, extending equipment life, reducing operation downtime, and enabling increased concentrations and operating temperatures in HCI, H (2) SO (4, ) and other acids. In addition, it enables users to eliminate separate "Platinum Spot Welding" application steps.

"H.C. Starck stays a step ahead of the metals industry with our conflict-free tantalum materials. It's vitally important for us to have a sustainable, secure supply chain that not only offers superior products, but also improves the performance of our customer's applications. Our newest product Ultra 76 Plus has very unique properties that offer better equipment performance, efficiency and cost of ownership for our customers. The FPR Division is well-positioned to serve the chemical processing and pharmaceutical industries and we are thrilled to be working with some of the top global chemical companies. This represents real growth opportunities for us," said Dmitry Shashkov, Member of H.C. Starck's Executive Board and Head of the Fabricated Products Division.

Ultra 76 Plus is used in heat exchangers, condensers, pumps, distillation columns and more.
