Guided Wave Radar Level Sensor Now Offers CSA and ATEX Approvals for Hazardous Locations

Monitor Technologies LLC announces the availability of CSA and ATEX certifications for it's Flexar(TM) guided wave radar continuous level measurement product line. The ATEX certification is Ex II 1/2 GD T75 ... 150C. CSA certification includes Class I, Division 1 & 2, Group B, C and D as well as Class II, Division 1 & 2, Groups E, F and G. CSA certifications apply to both Canada and the USA. These approvals allow the benefits of guided wave radar technology to be extended to areas where hazardous and explosive vapors and dust exist worldwide, including whole grains of a wide variety.

Flexar(TM) guided wave radar product is a continuous level measurement device using TDR (time domain reflectometry) principles where radar pulses area focused to the material surface by the unit's wave guide (typically a heavy duty cable or rod) and the time-of-flight of the pulse reflection back to the instrument electronics is directly related to the empty distance in the vessel and the material level.

Guided wave radar technology has proven successful and the best choice for virtually all powder and bulk solids application as well as a multitude of liquids applications. Monitor Technologies uniquely combines this proven level measurement technology with five decades of expertise in powder and bulk solids level measurement along with the industry leading PC-based inventory management software package.
