New Bryant LED Ground Fault Receptacle Provides Added Safety for End-Users

MILFORD, Conn., June 29, 2005 - Bryant® announces a new LED ground fault receptacle (GFR®) that is more than just a simple LED power indication light. Unlike competitive devices, the Bryant LED GFR® receptacle cycles through a complete functional test, when the test button is pushed, and will return a flashing red LED light if the ground fault protection is compromised.

If the ground fault protection is compromised, Bryant's LED GFR® provides "convenience power" at the face of the receptacle. The benefit of convenience power is to help prevent unsafe practices typically employed by end-users while the device is out of service and waiting to be replaced.

In addition, the new receptacle features mis-wire protection that blocks power at the face or downstream loads, if the device is improperly wired. The unit also meets UL943 surge testing (3kA, 6kV) preventing an inoperative power condition that "locks-out" the end user. With its compact size, the Bryant LED GFR® allows more room for quick and easy wiring.
