Original Press Release:

60 Amp Mid Range Ground Bond Tester with an Enhanced Graphic LCD

Lake Forest, Illinois, Jan. 2003 - Announced today by Associated Research, Inc. is the addition of the model 3160, to its HYAMP® III family of mid-range Ground Bond testers that feature an enhanced graphic display. The second model in the HYAMP III family, the 3160 was specifically designed to provide 60 amps of Ground Bond test current to meet the testing needs for products with higher input current ratings.

The model 3160 also includes an enhanced graphic display that simplifies the user interface and provides advanced features such as VERI-CHEK(TM) a built-in verification system and CAL-ALERT(TM), an automatic calibration alert system. In addition to the advanced features provided by the enhanced graphic LCD, it also provides a simplified menu, which displays clear and easy to view screens. It allows operators to view test parameters more clearly while setting up tests, running tests or viewing test results.

The 3160 includes both an offset function and Kelvin test leads allowing it to be flexible enough to work with any type of test fixture setup. With its increased ground bond test current and user selectable output voltage frequencies of 50 or 60 hertz, the 3160 is a perfect instrument not only for the US market but also the global market. Additionally, the 3160 has storage of up to 10 different test programs with 3 steps per memory. This makes it possible to store all the various test parameters required and recall them for each of the different products that need to be tested. These memories are also linkable to run multi-step tests. The 3160 also includes advanced features that improve safety and reliability of the tests performed. These tests include a no load set-up of high current, tamper proof front panel controls, electronic dwell settings and software calibration control.
