Grinding Wheel uses patented bonding to improve part quality.

Press Release Summary:

Muscle Wheel features impregnated resin to reinforce vitrified bond bridge, creating flexible bond that acts as shock absorber during grinding operations. Resin impregnation extends wheel life up to 70 % longer than traditional vitrified CBN wheels, and extends time between dressing cycles. Porosity of wheel improves thermal stability for consistent grinding. Grinding applications include crankshafts, camshafts, fuel injector components, and needle bearings.

Noritake Muscle Wheel Uses Patented Bonding Technology to Improve Grinding Performance

CINCINNATI, OH (September 4, 2002) - The Muscle Wheel from the Noritake Abrasive Division uses a patented bond technology to extend the wheel life while improving part quality by reducing residual stresses.

The new bond uses special impregnated resin to reinforce the vitrified bond bridge, creating a flexible bond that acts as a shock absorber during grinding operations. The results are long form-holding capability and improved grain retention. The resin impregnation extends wheel life up to 70 percent longer than Noritake's traditional vitrified CBN wheels, and extends the time between dressing cycles. The engineered porosity of the wheel improves thermal stability for consistent grinding performance and improved part quality.

Because of its flexibility and form-holding capability, the resin impregnated vitrified bond makes the Muscle Wheel ideally suited for grinding applications such as crankshafts, camshafts, fuel injector components, and needle bearings.
