Grafton, WI, SKF Precision Technologies, a division of SKF USA Inc., announces a new range of grinding spindles, representing a new generation of high-speed, high-frequency spindles.

The new GNS grinding spindles are available with steel or ceramic bearings and can be air-oil or grease lubricated. Designed to meet a wide range of applications, the new GNS spindles offer a variety of features including: through shaft cooling, HSK tool attachment and speed sensors. Components feature case-hardening and tempering treatments to prevent wear and loss of precision. SKF will certify the power values and tolerances of its high-frequency spindles per application.

GNS spindles are designed to meet a broad range of grinding requirements and are appropriate for working with steel, aluminum and most other metals. Spindles are available in sizes from 100mm to 170mm, cartridge diameters with speeds from 8000 to 105,000 RPM and reach power levels up to 36.5 kW.
