Greenerd Builds and Delivers Three Large, Unique Hydraulic Presses

Recent 2009 Orders Signal Renewed Demand For Greenerd Large Press Capability.

NASHUA, NH U.S.A. (October 9, 2009) - Greenerd Press & Machine Company, Inc. announced today they have recently built and shipped three separate orders for unique, large-sized hydraulic presses ranging in capacity from 330-tons to 1,000-tons for various metalworking / forming applications. The presses were all designed and built in Greenerd's Nashua, New Hampshire U.S.A. factory and were ordered by three U.S.-based manufacturers.

"We are very pleased to be seeing increased demand for our large capacity press solutions," said Mr. Tim Dining, President of Greenerd Press & Machine Company, Inc. "Despite the flat economy, our business has been steady in 2009 including these three large press orders and others throughout the course of the year. Thanks to our superb engineering and manufacturing capabilities in our New Hampshire facility, we are well prepared to fulfill custom hydraulic press orders."

Greenerd designed and built a 330-ton eight-point, gib-guided press for a southeastern U.S.-based global automotive / aerospace supplier in the third quarter, delivered September 15. The press is designed for ironing CV joints and delivers 0.001" accuracy in bed to ram concentricity.

A second press, built in the second quarter and shipped on April 30 was a 1,000-ton, eight-point, gib-guided hydraulic press for a southwestern U.S. brake pad manufacturing company. The high-speed, high-precision press is being used for coining in the manufacturing of heavy duty aftermarket brake pads.

A triple-action draw press was also recently shipped to a northeastern U.S. aerospace manufacturer. The press was designed with a 600-ton capacity main ram / punch, 300-ton blankholder platen and 125-ton cushion for drawing sheet metal into aerospace and aeronautical components.

Founded in New England in 1883, Greenerd has designed and built thousands of high-quality custom and standard hydraulic presses since 1934. Machines include an extensive line of Hydraulic Presses in all sizes and configurations. A complete line of Arbor Presses is also available. Greenerd Presses are made to withstand the rigors of around-the-clock production and deliver many years of service.

Greenerd Presses are available as standard machines or can be designed for custom applications by expert engineers with extensive application experience.
