Green is a Part of our Logo........

Metalcraft Industries takes a proactive approach to environmental stewardship through numerous creative initiatives. These processes not only reduce the impact we have on the Earth's ecosystems, but also reduce overall costs.

This is a win for everyone, since we are able to pass our cost savings along to our customers, as we follow an eco-friendly manufacturing plan that ensures a clean and healthy future for the next generations of customers.

We eliminated the use of solvent-based paints in our manufacturing lines.

By using a powder coat finish, rather than paint, we are able to provide a long lasting, durable finish, and at the same time, we reduce our impact on the Earth's land, water and atmosphere.

This process eliminates the generation of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions that are common with most paints and solvents. Additionally, we produce no harmful solvent or paint waste that would be treated as hazardous waste.

We pioneered a new manual production hand twisted method for fabricating our popular wire Twistake®.

We not only save the Earth's resources by reducing the need for fossil fuel and coal powered electricity, we also were able to aid a local rehabilitative center for disabled Americans by providing much needed manufacturing jobs.

This new manufacturing concept helps us keep prices low, while being environmentally conscious.

Shipping material used by manufacturers are big business enterprises. They're also not as environmentally friendly as they could be. Metalcraft Industries realizes that commonplace recycling of excess scrap materials is only one way to help the environment. A better way is to complete the recycling chain: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

To do this, we always look for ways to re-use existing materials wherever possible and to reduce the need for those brand new materials in our packaging

We work to coordinate with our sign shops and distributors to determine whether bulk packaged products can be a better alternative for their shipment rather than individually boxed items, reducing the need to cut trees, pulp wood, and consume energy in the manufacturing of excess boxes.

We purchase scrap newspaper for padding from our hometown newspaper at a substantially discounted price, compared to normal clean newsprint packaging. Not only does this reduce costs, but it gives the discarded newspaper another use, before it enters the recycling chain, again.

This removes the need for pulping, bleaching, and other harmful processes for one extra cycle in the raw materials chain.

The same philosophy applies to our cardboard boxes and pallets. We re-utilize what we can, wherever we can, in the interests of keeping your costs down and protecting the environment.

By adopting a 4-day, 40-hour work week in our production facility, we reduce our electric and natural gas consumption by 18%.

Over the course of a year, this equates to a 520 hour savings in power consumption for our facilities and powder coat curing line. This is a huge step in reducing the use of our energy resources and saving our customers money.

But, it doesn't stop there! Each of our employees saves a day's worth of travel to and from work, each week, greatly reducing carbon emissions and fossil fuel consumption. Not to mention the enhanced quality of life they experience, as a result.

These are just a handful of examples of the initiatives that Metalcraft undertakes in meeting our Green Business goals.

There are numerous more, from office supply recycling and waste recycling, to elimination of harmful substances and chemicals throughout the workplace.

Our branding colors may be Black, Gold and Red, but you'll see that we're Green in everything we do.
