New Gravimetric Filler Features 2,000-pail-per-hour Capability and Integrated Computer-Controlled Weighing System

-filler is designed for plug-and-fill and fully automatic operation in petrochemical, paint and lacquer, and food applications

HOUSTON--A new high-speed gravimetric filler system featuring a computerized flow-control capability and modular design is now available from Feige Filling Technology USA LP. The system, called Rapid Filler, dispenses liquids, pastes and other products into pails and drums weighing up to 66 pounds (30 kilograms), in petrochemical, paint and lacquer, food and other applications.

The Feige Rapid Filler can fill six pails simultaneously and has a total output of 2,000-plus pails per hour. An onboard weighing system, controlled by an industrial-grade PC, synchronizes the filling process and flow rate, and ensures filling accuracy and compliance with weights-and-measures regulations. It also makes the use of a separate weighing system to verify product weight unnecessary.

"Rapid Filler has a completely integrated weighing system," says Holger Ferst, president, Feige Filling Technology USA LP. "The system precisely controls the opening and shutoff of the filler valves in order to reduce produce spillage and ensure filling accuracy."

Plug-and-Fill Operation
Rapid Filler's modular design makes it suitable for plug-and-fill operations. The system can be moved via forklift directly to the product location, reducing the need for extensive piping and hoses. It can also be equipped with rollers.Rapid Filler's valve carriage, which holds up to six dispensing valves, can be installed by simply connecting compressed air and electrical power, making quick product substitutions possible.

Production-Line Operation

Operating in fully automated mode, Rapid Filler can be integrated with conveyors equipped with optimized acceleration and braking ramps that prevent container sliding and product spillage. The system can also be used with a variety of Feige accessories including pail denesters, lid placers and pressers, labeling equipment, and palletizers.
