GraviKor Announces Landmark Partnership to Commercialize Military Vehicle Spaceframe Technology

Military and private security platforms to benefit from radical weight savings, design flexibility, and safety enhancements

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich., Feb. 5 / / -- GraviKor, Inc. today announced a strategic development and licensing agreement with Southeastern Michigan-based SpaceForm, Inc. to commercialize advanced vehicle spaceframe technology for security and military markets. The multiyear agreement between the two companies involves an exclusive field of use license for military vehicles to GraviKor for SpaceForm's patented Deformation Resistance Welding technology(TM) (DRW). DRW, which allows near instantaneous joining of high strength tubular components, is a key enabler in overcoming the longstanding manufacturing cost inhibitors related to conventional spaceframe fabrication methods.

"Cost and cycle time challenges of conventional spaceframe assembly are what have historically confined their use to only the most exotic commercial and racing applications," states GraviKor spokesman Dave Tait. "We believe we have assembled the right team, with the right technology, to overcome these barriers and exploit this solution within the high demand military and security sectors who are struggling with overwhelming vehicle weight and performance challenges." SpaceForm's President Alain Piette adds, "SpaceForm found in GraviKor the combination of military domain expertise, customer relationships and entrepreneurial vision that we believe is critical to success in this market and we are confident in their ability to succeed." The companies will collaborate during the early product validation stages through SpaceForm's Detroit-based design studio with engineering and testing occurring at GraviKor locations in Madison Heights and Columbus, OH.
