Fujitsu Microelectronics Now Shipping Powerful, Efficient AutoGraFX PreViewer System for Embedded Graphics Developers

PreViewer Enables Artists, System Engineers to View Graphics from Target Screen, System to be Demonstrated at Telematics Detroit, June 8-9

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) is now providing its AutoGraFX® PreViewer(TM) display controller system for embedded graphics developers, a tool for displaying graphical content and optimizing artwork used in graphical user interfaces.

PreViewer consists of hardware based on the Fujitsu graphics display controller (GDC) technology and a powerful software application combined in a standalone display controller system. The system enables graphic artists and system engineers to view design work on thin film transistor (TFT) screens during development, simplifying design projects and reducing overall design turn-around time and cost.

PreViewer resolves the challenge caused by variations in image quality between graphics viewed on a studio workstation and those reviewed on target display screens. Variations in color depth and resolution can create differences in the finished system. The problem is exacerbated by the time lag between the completion of the studio work and completion of the working prototype required to view the graphics in the system. AutoGraFX PreViewer enables the designer to see the graphics exactly as they will appear in the finished hardware while the graphics are under development. The result: both designers and developers work efficiently from the beginning stage of graphics development.

AutoGraFX PreViewer supports multiple resolutions and up to four display panels at a time. The product eliminates the potential for variations in a graphics design between the initial studio design and the final product.

"Many graphics developers view their work on large, high-resolution, high-color LCDs," said Dan Landeck, senior strategic marketing manager, Fujitsu Microelectronics America. "But the workstation environment is very different from the target screen of the embedded system, creating potential distortions and inconsistencies that can significantly delay project completion. AutoGraFX PreViewer allows everyone in the process to work from essentially the same graphics design."

The Fujitsu AutoGraFX PreViewer will be demonstrated at the annual Telematics Detroit conference at the Rock Financial Center in Novi, Michigan, June 8-9, in booth 97. PreViewer, including the AutoGraFX software, is available now from Fujitsu Microelectronics.
