Highland, UT — Grabber® Construction Products, an international manufacturer and distributor of professional-grade fasteners and construction products, introduces PortaMill™, a revolutionary handheld tool that creates a recessed edge to enable a stronger, flatter joint in the finished wall, eliminating the butt joint.
The PortaMill™ is the newest addition to the PanelMax fabrication system and was tested with outstanding results over a period of 18 months before being made commercially available in the US. It was originally designed for drywall, but it was also discovered to perform exceptionally well with cement sheeting, multiboard, and similar materials, forming a recess within seconds.
The PortaMill™ has a patented design featuring a diamond wheel to remove the gypsum beneath the paper face, allowing a perfectly customized, recessed edge. The innovative head design also allows efficient dust collection when used with the PanelMax vacuum from Grabber®. The PortaMill comes standard with a molded case, diamond wheel, and wrench for easy blade changing.
The recessed edge can be machined on any edge, allowing the finisher to save time, materials, and money finishing the recess instead of using the traditional butt joint. Preset and ready to operate right out of the box, the PortaMill™ is lightweight and suitable for day-to-day use on the job. The machine has one blade for all applications and a built-in safety switch, and it has been safety tested and ETL certified.
