Press Release Summary:
Dedicated for GPON (ITU-T G.984) network, PAS7401 is used to build power- and performance-optimized GPON ONT in Single Family Unit (SFU), Multiple Dwelling Unit (MDU), or similar configurations. It integrates GPON SERDES, MAC, and packet-processing functions together with ARM9 controller, dual Gigabit Ethernet UI, TDM interface, and dedicated DSP for VoIP processing. Simultaneous and sustained 2 Gbps downstream and 1.244 Gbps upstream throughput is provided at all packet sizes.
Original Press Release:
PAS7401 GPON ONT SoC
Features
The PAS7401 is PMC-Sierra's second generation GPON ONT System-on- Chip (SOC), dedicated for use in a GPON (ITU-T G.984) network. The PAS7401 is an optimized device for building a high-performance, extremely low-power and low-cost GPON ONT in Single Family Unit (SFU), Multiple Dwelling Unit (MDU), or similar configurations. The PAS7401 integrates the GPON SERDES, MAC and packet-processing functions, together with an integrated ARM9 controller, a dual Gigabit Ethernet user interface, a TDM interface, and a dedicated DSP for VoIP processing.
The PAS7401 is based on PMC-Sierra's field-proven GigaPASS networking architecture, which provides market-leading throughput and quality of service (QoS). The PAS7401 provides simultaneous and sustained 2 Gbit/s downstream and 1.244 Gbit/s upstream throughput at all packet sizes. The GigaPASS networking engine provides TR-101 based networking features, compliant with FSAN CTS specifications, including 802.1p/q bridging, packet classification, filtering and queuing, traffic shaping and policing.
PRODUCT BENEFITS
Full ITU-T G.984 GPON ONT functionality with integrated CPU and a comprehensive software package
GigaPASS Wire-speed performance - Simultaneous 2 Gbit/s downstream and 1.244 Gbit/s upstream sustained throughput at any packet size.
