Global Retailer Implements Infor Enterprise Asset Management

Groupo Carrefour Streamlines Maintenance Operations, Developing Preventive Maintenance Strategy in Supermercado Norte

ATLANTA - October 8, 2007 - Infor today announced that Groupo Carrefour in Argentina, one of the world's leading retailers, has deployed Infor EAM Enterprise Edition in Supermercado Norte. The global retailer is using Infor's business-specific asset management solution to gain a comprehensive view of their entire maintenance operation, helping them to streamline processes and develop a preventive maintenance strategy.

Infor was chosen following a selection process carried out by Accenture, who presented a comprehensive maintenance strategy which included the Infor EAM solution. Formerly, Carrefour (in Supermercado Norte) handled its maintenance through an internal database. They needed a technology solution that could provide better visibility into their operations in order to decrease redundancies, optimize inventory turns and track maintenance requests.

"One of the main issues we had to solve was the lack of organization in the maintenance area - work was not scheduled, tasks were not tracked, and actions were only corrective. Thanks to Infor EAM, we have identified that 85 percent of the tasks are corrective and 15 percent preventive. Our goal is to improve this until only 15 percent of tasks are corrective and 85 percent are preventive," states Gustavo Taraba, maintenance engineer at Carrefour. "Since the implementation, we can now issue work orders, an important benefit to track maintenance tasks. This is one of our most important management tools to run our operations as efficiently and profitable as possible."

Carrefour enjoys complete control and integration of its work processes that span sub-departments which exist in multiple locations. Carrefour also benefits from the reduction in maintenance costs and labor spent inspecting different sites. Infor EAM also optimizes inventory costs by automatically updating inventory requirements.

Claudio Umaschi, Infor VP for the South Cone, said, "Carrefour selected Infor EAM mainly to install preventive processes with a solution that allows role-based access to an online environment. Infor's solutions provide enterprising companies like Carrefour with the capabilities to effectively manage the critical parts of their business, freeing up valuable resources to focus on enhancing the quality of their customer service."

Infor EAM solutions allow customers to maintain, manage, and improve the performance of their capital asset infrastructure, such as manufacturing equipment, fleet, and facilities, by combining asset management functionality and advanced reporting with advanced analytics to deliver a powerful platform for optimizing enterprise asset performance. Infor's EAM solutions go beyond traditional management of assets providing information that helps identify key trends and anomalies, forecast performance issues, and helps to make forward-looking decisions to take action.
