VoiceEngine(TM) Mobile Lite Extends Award-Winning Technology to Developer Community

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 7 /-- Global IP Sound (GIPS) today announced the availability of the GIPS VoiceEngine(TM) Mobile Lite platform to the GIPS Developer Community. The software platform includes technology from the award-winning GIPS VoiceEngine solution for mobile devices and sample integration code for the simple and quick creation of mobile VoIP applications.

Responding to the increasing demand for mobile VoIP solutions, Global IP Sound is providing mobile application developers free and limited access to its easy-to-use VoiceEngine Mobile Lite platform. This solution enables companies or individuals to test and explore the mobile VoIP application business with the best available embedded voice processing solution in the market.

Based on the VoiceEngine Mobile platform, VoiceEngine Mobile Lite includes some components of the core GIPS technology utilized by many leading VoIP solutions providers including Skype, Tencent, and Inter-tel. With VoiceEngine Mobile Lite, developers can implement GIPS codecs as well as NetEQ, an advanced jitter buffer and packet loss concealment module, without having to license the solution. GIPS VoiceEngine Mobile Lite today supports Windows Mobile 2003, Windows Mobile 5.0 and 5.0 Smartphone devices with real-time performance Wi-Fi.

"As VoIP technology emerges as an important solution in the wireless space, the availability of VoiceEngine Mobile Lite provides a strong set of tools to create almost any non-commercial application," said Gary P. Hermansen, president and CEO, GIPS. "We believe this unique environment will help facilitate innovation and creativity in the mobile VoIP marketplace while allowing developers to experience GIPS technology."

GIPS is partnering with a number of companies to offer additional mobile VoIP development tools. For example, members of GIPS' Developer Community can access Googles' Libjingle application for mobile phones. VoiceEngine Mobile Lite is also interoperable Google Talk's peer-to-peer and voice calling capabilities.

VoiceEngine Mobile Lite is the latest tool from GIPS designed for the company's Developer Community. In less than one year the community has seen tremendous growth and currently features software, demo applications, and an online forum for members to provide peer-to-peer development support, discuss ideas for products, and chat about VoIP and related technologies. Developer Community members also have access to VoIP test tools and a video tutorial.
