Global Crossing Latin America Launches Expanded Suite of Solutions Under Unified Brand

o Impsat brand officially transitions to Global Crossing throughout region.

o Combined companies' products and services leveraged in eight targeted solutions.

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, July 31 / -- Global Crossing (NASDAQ:GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider, today introduced a new, expanded suite of solutions in Latin America following its acquisition of Impsat Fiber Networks. The new service portfolio will be marketed under the Global Crossing brand, as the company begins to officially retire the Impsat brand.

"By leveraging Global Crossing's worldwide brand equity across Latin America, we're underscoring a key message to our customers: we can take your business anywhere on earth," commented Hector Alonso, managing director of Global Crossing Latin America. "This unified product offering, together with our integrated network assets, value-added services and data center capabilities, takes advantage of the strengths that Global Crossing and Impsat have as a combined entity."

The expanded service portfolio under Global Crossing's brand is another step forward in the integration process following Global Crossing's acquisition of Impsat in May of 2007. The combined companies' nearly 100 products are now organized under eight targeted solution areas, ensuring a customer-centric alignment of the product offering.

The underlying strategy supporting the new portfolio of products and services is to address enterprises' increasing demand for integrated solutions that offer cost efficiency and more complexity. Global Crossing's new solution suites have been designed to address companies' critical needs by offering accessibility, security, continuity, productivity and collaboration. The new capabilities include Global Crossing IP Solutions, Global Crossing Data Transport Solutions, Global Crossing Security Solutions, Global Crossing Continuity Solutions, Global Crossing On Demand Solutions, Global Crossing Voice Solutions, Global Crossing Collaboration Solutions and Global Crossing Consulting Services.

"Ensuring top class customer experience continues to be a priority for Global Crossing as we integrate our companies," said Marcelo Girotti, head of sales and marketing for Global Crossing Latin America. "Aligning the product offering -- and the region as a whole -- under one brand is key for our customers, who have been quick to recognize that the new Global Crossing Latin America offers consistent service, reliability and security anywhere in the world."

The Latin American enterprise market offers a significant growth potential for IP communications. For example, industry analyst firm Frost & Sullivan has projected that adoption of IP telephony services in Latin America will grow faster than in any other region, at nearly double the estimated pace of global growth.

"While the Latin American region has gone through some economic instability, the scenario is now favorable for enterprises to invest in next generation communications technologies," stated Kristin Crispin, industry manager for the enterprise communications and networks research practice at Frost & Sullivan. "Latin American enterprises are already allocating a share of their budget to invest in IP solutions. The phase of understanding the benefits and advantages of IP-based communications - such as IP telephony and IP VPN - has passed, and in the upcoming years it will be a matter of finding the best solution according to the company's capacity and needs."

In addition to expanding and enhancing its suite of products and services, the company also announced today that the Impsat brand will change to Global Crossing throughout the region. The transition will be introduced at local customer events through mid-August, which will formally present the new company identity and the company's new solutions portfolio.

"Our product line has been enhanced to offer customers solutions that will enable them to focus on their core business while we take care of their information and communications operations end-to-end," added Alonso. "All of our service offerings provide top industry expertise, efficiency in service delivery and a world-class telecommunications infrastructure with 15 data centers and a state-of-the-art, truly global IP-based network."

Global Crossing's recent acquisitions of both Fibernet and Impsat have positioned it as an even stronger international player in the telecommunications global market, ushering in a new era for the company. The company now has more than 5,000 employees throughout the world, its IP network now connects more than 600 cities in 60 countries.
