Gill Sensors and Controls Expands Position Sensors into North American Market

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Gill Sensors and Controls Limited has announced expansion of their non-contacting position sensor product line into North America to better serve its growing base of U.S. sensor customers.  Gill has responded to OEM requests for a more active presence in North America with the appointment of a North American Business Development Manager in the U.S.

Gill's product offering includes non-contacting rotary and linear position sensors, liquid level sensors, oil condition monitoring and bulk (grain presence) sensors for OEM's in the construction, agriculture, marine, motorsport and defense markets.

As Lizzie Phillips, Director of Gill Sensors Controls explains, "Gill has had a long presence in the U.S. market with engine control systems through our Missouri office and we will be maintaining that office and staff to support our OEM, aftermarket and distribution customers.  In parallel, we have expanded our position sensors product line, having created several custom engineered sensing solutions for U.S. based OEMs.  This restructuring puts in place similar sales, distribution and engineering support for U.S. customers requiring either standard or custom sensing solutions."

As a part of the sensor market expansion, Gill has appointed Paul Cain as North American Business Development Manager.  Cain brings both a passion for customer service and significant application engineering experience in the area of custom engineered sensing solutions.  He maintains a sales and technical support office in Orange County, California and is available for technical support, quoting and supporting product requirements.

"I'm very excited to be part of this expansion," says Cain.  "I look forward to identifying and supporting new customers and markets that best fit Gill's core strength - solving extremely tough position sensing challenges that OEM customers face."

Prior to joining Gill, Cain served as North American General Manager for PIHER / Meggitt, a Spanish sensor manufacturer.  Previous positions in the industry include Director of Sales and Marketing at BEI Duncan Electronics / BEI Kimco Magnetics and 13 years with TRW where he worked in automotive electronics with air bag crash sensors and as Director of Operations for TRW Steering and Suspension in Sydney, Australia.
