Original Press Release:

New Scienceware® Wash Bottles Provide Full Compliance with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals

Wayne, NJ – Configurations for workplace chemical container labels are changing with a compliance deadline of June 2016, but your wash bottles can be fully compliant now.

“Scienceware® Right-to-Know, Safety-Vented Wash Bottles with GHS Labeling are available for 14 commonly used fluids for optimum workplace safety,” according to Laura Geenen, Category Manager for Bel-Art Products.

In addition to common chemicals, labels include fluids like water and isotonic saline. Geenen explains, “Although a bottle of Water does not require any specific GHS hazard symbols, it is important that users are able to identify what is in any particular bottle.”

Bel-Art Products offers the largest selection of 500 and 1000mL safety vented GHS compliant wash bottles.  Each one satisfies the OSHA HazCom 2012 standard known as the “Right-to-Know” Law based on the simple idea that employees have both a right and a need to know about the hazards of the chemicals they are exposed to, and how to protect themselves. In addition, each bottle is now labeled with GHS required symbols.

Each bottle is preprinted with easy to understand pictograms and wording including Chemical Name and Formula, CAS #, NFPA Diamond, Recommended Protective Equipment and a List of Target Organs.  Color coded caps help differentiate bottles and a safety vent prevents pressure build up and potentially dangerous drips.
