Georgia Superabrasive Tooling (GST) has developed a line of cartridge based tool holders that allow for the re-sharpening and downsizing of full-top CBN inserts that can yield savings of 60% over the cost of mini-tips in the certain applications. Downsizing is available for round and triangle style inserts.
GST's full-top CBN inserts are ideal for the hard-turning of tool steels 45Rc to 65Rc+. Our inserts allow machining speeds up to 600+ SFM, chip loads to .020 IPR, with depth of cut to .200". With reduced feed rates and depth of cut, finishes to 4-Ra+ can be achieved.
