Geokinetics Marine Vibrator Recording in GOM

HOUSTON -- Geokinetics Inc., is pleased to announce the successful deployment of its AquaVib(TM) Marine Vibrator, in full production mode, on a Geokinetics ocean bottom crew working in the Gulf of Mexico. The AquaVib(TM) Marine Vibrator has been long awaited as an alternative to existing compressed air sources with its much lower sound amplitudes.
The recently acquired AquaVib(TM) seismic data was recorded into a multi-component ocean bottom system. Geokinetics is processing the data in their Houston Processing and Reservoir Geosciences Data Center for comparison to a conventional air source survey shot in the same location.
