Gear Pump features positive displacement design.

Press Release Summary:

Fully-Jacketed internal gear pump comes in 11 sizes from 15 to 1,100 gpm, at pressures to 230 psi. It provides jacketing around perimeter of rotor case, inlet and discharge throats, and on many sizes, throughout flange areas. With stainless steel, steel, ductile iron, and cast iron material options, pump handles variety of fluids, withstanding temperatures to 800 deg F and viscosities to 2,000,000 SSU. Top-suction/bottom-discharge and 90 deg angle ports are available.

Original Press Release:

New Fully-Jacketed Gear Pumps from Viking Pump

Viking Pump announces a new line of Fully-Jacketed internal gear pumps in eleven sizes from 15 to 1,100 gpm (3.4 to 250 m3/hr), at pressures to 280 psi (20 bar). Compared to standard pumps with only jacketed brackets and heads, these new Fully-Jacketed pumps also provide jacketing around the perimeter of the rotor case, around the inlet and discharge throats, and, on many sizes, throughout the flange areas, to provide more than twice the heat transfer surface area. This allows faster startup on
ambient-temperature solids like asphalts, and improves process control for temperature-critical materials like monomers, polymers, polyesters, and thermoplastic resins. These pumps are also used in extreme environments where below-zero temperatures can freeze or damage the pumped fluids.

With stainless steel, steel, ductile iron and cast iron material options, they can handle a wide variety of fluids, withstanding temperatures to 800°F (425°C) and handling viscosities to 2,000,000 SSU (440,000 cSt). Viking offers the choice of packing,
component mechanical seals, or cartridge-style lip seals and single- and double-mechanical seals. Seal plans are available. A variety of port configurations, including top-suction / bottom-discharge and 90° angle ports are available, with 150# or 300#
flanges. The jacketing ports are available in threaded, flanged or weld neck styles for use with saturated steam or heat transfer fluids. The pumps' positive displacement design is ideal for simple transfer applications as well as process metering or batch delivery.
