Gear Flow Meters incorporate linearizing transmitter.

Press Release Summary:

Featuring stainless steel bodies, G-Series operates at max flow rates of 45 and 105 L/min, with 0.3% of reading accuracy across 100:1 flow range. All meters are calibrated with 30 cp fluid, but are compatible with fluid viscosities ranging from under 5-100,000 cp and beyond. Operating at pressures as high as 6,000 psi, meters minimize pressure drop and eliminate cavitation. Applications include hydraulic testing, motion control, and precision dispensing.

Original Press Release:

New G-Series Gear Flow Meters from Max Machinery, Inc.

Healdsburg, CA - Max Machinery, Inc. announces the release of a new line of precision gear flow meters. Long known for their leading-edge fluid flow meters featuring the stability and simplicity of positive displacement measurement, Max's new gear flow meters incorporate many innovations that provide superior quality and accuracy at competitive prices.

The new meters operate at maximum flow rates of 45 L/min and 105 L/min, respectively, with 0.3% of reading accuracy across a 100:1 flow range, an exceptionally small margin of error over such a wide range of flow. All meters are calibrated with 30 cP fluid, but are compatible with fluid viscosities ranging from under 5 cP up to 100,000 cP and beyond. Rugged stainless steel bodies are designed to operate at pressures as high as 6000 psi and operate in a wide range of environments. The gear design has been optimized to minimize pressure drop and eliminate the high flow rate cavitation that many gear flow meters exhibit. Max gear meters are ideal for a large variety of applications, including hydraulic testing, motion control, and precision dispensing, and are particularly well-suited to processes involving extremely viscous fluids such as adhesives and sealants.

During operation, fluid enters the meter, causing the gears to rotate and filling the gaps between the teeth. At the exit, the gear teeth mesh together and drive the fluid out. The rotational speed of the gears is proportional to the flow rate. Continuing the Max tradition of providing industry-leading solutions, these new meters offer superior accuracy as a result of unique mechanical design features and custom electronic encoding methods. While most gear meters on the market count the passage of each gear tooth to determine flow rates, Max's innovative design uses proprietary techniques to directly detect gear position thousands of times per revolution, achieving extraordinary resolution and unparalleled response characteristics. This advantage is especially critical at low flow rates, where the Max flow meters provide 20 to 50 times the resolution typical of competitive meters, and faster response to flow rate changes.

These meters incorporate a newly developed version of Max's Model 294 high resolution, linearizing transmitter. The transmitter's microprocessor circuitry automatically adjusts the output signal to greatly improve the accuracy over the exceptionally wide range of flow. In addition, it can be configured to a custom calibration factor, allowing each flow meter to produce an identical output signal. This feature is particularly valuable at sites where multiple flow meters are installed. This product line is RoHS compliant and CE Certified.
