New Right Angle Helical Gear Drives from Sterling Instrument Designed to Simply Add Keyed Shafting



New Hyde Park, New York - Two new series of right angle helical gear drives from Sterling Instrument are designed to operate with user supplied keyed shafting. These heavy duty sealed ball bearing units feature o-ring sealed gear cases and either right or left-hand rotation plus sealed ball bearings for high-speed operation.

Identified as the S991MY and S991HY Series, they are available in ratios of 1:1,3:2 and 2:1.

Designed around 45 degree helical cut gears, they operate at lower temperatures making them more efficient as compared with "floating" brands. Gear cases are also sealed to provide worry free duty.

Available from stock with hollow bores from 1/2" to 3/4" in diameter. They are suited for most industry applications such as for use in printing, packaging and textile machinery. They can be used as speed increasers or speed reducers. These gear drives consist of hard anodized aluminum alloy cases, 1045 heat treated helical gears and 1144 hollow bore steel shafts.

They have built-in keyways with keys included and have rated speeds up to 1800 RPM.
