GE Service Agreement to Help Ensure Reliability, Market Competitiveness for CHP Plant in Thailand

· Plant Supplies Power, Steam 24 Hours a Day for IRPC Petrochemical Complex

· Service Pact Covers Localized Support of Six GE 6B Gas Turbines

· Multimillion Dollar Agreement Covers 12 Years

BANGKOK- IRPC Public Company Limited, one of the leading integrated petrochemical companies in Thailand, has signed a contractual service agreement (CSA) with GE (NYSE: GE) to help ensure a reliable supply of power and steam for IRPC's petroleum and petrochemical plants at an industrial park in Rayong Province.

The 12-year, multimillion CSA covers six GE Frame 6B gas turbines at the combined heat and power (CHP) plant that serves the industrial park, located about 200 kilometers east of Bangkok. The nominal output of the CHP plant is about 220 megawatts of electric power and 400 tons per hour of process steam at the required pressure and temperature levels.

The CSA will be supported by local teams from the GE Keppel service center in Singapore that covers Thailand as well as other countries in the region. GE has an extensive 6B gas turbine fleet in the region and leverages broad fleet experience related to similar long-term service agreements across the Asia region.

"With our CHP site required to operate 24/7 to meet our customer needs, reliability and availability of our power supply is critical," said Atikom Terbsiri, president of IRPC. "This agreement will help ensure high performance for the plant and gives us the confidence of knowing that we have nearby GE resources that we can depend on to quickly respond to our needs and minimize the environmental impact surrounding our communities and neighbors."

CSAs are structured to help ensure long-term performance and reliability of installed assets, more predictable maintenance costs and access to GE's latest technology and global experience. To date, GE has long-term agreements in place at more than 700 sites worldwide.

"GE's commitment is to help customers like IRPC operate their facilities to their full economic potential," said Partha Sarathy, general manager, ASEAN region, GE Power Generation Services Asia. "This CSA agreement has been customized to help IRPC maintain its competitive market position and control operational costs over the long term."

IRPC is a subsidiary of PTT Group, one of the largest energy conglomerates in Southeast Asia. GE has supplied the entire fleet of Frame 6B gas turbines for the PTT Group including PTT Global Chemical, PTT Utility, Thai Oil and IRPC. GE also has long-term service agreements in place with three of the four businesses.
