GE Fanuc Automation Announces New Motion Commands for VersaMax® Micro 64 Controllers

Firmware release provides unprecedented ease of use for creating motion commands

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA, MARCH 7, 2007 GE Fanuc Automation, a unit of GE Industrial, has announced the availability of new motion commands for the VersaMax® Micro 64 Controllers. The 3.6 firmware release provides unprecedented ease of use for creating motion commands.

There are now powerful function blocks, for Jogging, Find Home, Go Home, Blended Move (1 to 4 moves), and Stop Motion, according to GE Fanuc Controllers Product Manager, Bill Black.

"In addition to the new motion commands we have increased the performance of the high-speed counter to 32 bits. The VersaMax Micro 64 can support up to four axis (65kHz pulse out and 100kHz in) of motion control and can easily control GE Fanuc MotorCube stepper, PowerCube steppers, S2K servos or any third party stepper or servo with a pulse/direction command interface," Black said.

The VersaMax Micro 64 provides a complete solution for any company's automation needs. Its quality construction provides reliable operation and is designed to minimize maintenance costs. The Micro 64 is easy to use and support, and is available with a wide range of I/O expansion modules and a variety of communications options including Ethernet.

The 3.6 firmware is a free download from www.gefanuc.com and can be loaded to all-existing VersaMax Micro 64s. The factory started shipping firmware 3.6 on Micro 64s in December 2006, however, existing customers can upgrade to 3.6via a free download from www.gefanuc.com.
