Gaumard to Demonstrate Use of HAL Tetherless Simulators at EMS Today

Company Will Demonstrate how Trauma HAL and Newborn HAL Meet First Responders' Needs

BALTIMORE – Gaumard® Scientific Company today announced it will showcase Trauma HAL® and Newborn HAL at EMS Today, the JEMS Conference Exposition, Feb. 25-28 in Baltimore, Md. The HAL products were engineered to address the educational needs of medical personnel as they train to treat injuries that occur in emergency situations.

First responders, EMS personnel and other attendees will be able to demo Gaumard's high fidelity simulators which may be used in treating:

--  Traumatic and accidental injuries including even those resulting from
Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and explosive (CBRNe)
        hazards
--  Medical issues related to the airway and lungs
--  Cardiac and related circulatory system issues

John Eggert, Gaumard's executive vice president, said: "Gaumard's simulators including Trauma HAL, Newborn HAL and the latest HAL 3201 meet the rigorous training needs of first responders and EMTs as they relate to treatment of many issues including accidental injuries, the fourth leading cause of death in the United States.  We've specifically designed a family of tetherless or wireless simulators across the age ranges as accidents do not only happen to adult males."

Trauma HAL and other Gaumard simulators address extensively the training needs of EMTs as outlined by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. HAL is a rugged and resilient simulator with durability proven by independent testing in hot and cold conditions and wet and dry environments. HAL's fully tetherless technology allows the communications, compressor, and power supply components to be placed inside the simulator body, eliminating the need for external tubes, wires and compressors. This design innovation, which was pioneered by Gaumard, enables the most realistic, flexible training scenarios for simulator.

Gaumard's simulators will be on display at booth No. 1726 at EMS Today held at the Baltimore Convention Center, Baltimore, Md.
