Marposs Introduces Software Enhancements for Merlin Gauge Computer at Quality EXPO 2008



March 25, 2008, Auburn Hills, MI - Marposs Corp. will present new software to enhance the versatility and functionality of its innovative Merlin compact gauge computer at Quality Detroit in booth #305, June 11-12, 2008. Among the recently added features are Serial output protocol for closed loop control; easier Max-Min mastering of fixtures; enhanced production tracing tools; ability to view single value charts; sub-group data with alarms; manual inputs; and ability to configure up to 16 I/O settings.

The Merlin compact gauge computer allows manufacturers to conveniently and reliably store, retrieve and manage measurement data on the shop floor. Up to 16 characteristics can be displayed in alpha-numeric or graphical format, together with basic statistical analysis such as histograms, control charts, value charts, etc. The Merlin gauge computer represents an alternative concept for data collection from traditional or wireless measuring devices. It uses the same technologies created for today's PDA and portable electronic units and runs Microsoft® Windows® CE 5.0 software. Embedded technology with fan-less architecture and no moving parts ensures the highest level of system reliability.

The new Merlin gauge computer incorporates an 8.4" color LCD touch screen display with adjustable viewing angle fixed to a bench-top base.
