Akron® introduces its new style 2286 gate valve. This new valve is constructed of lightweight Pyrolite® (9 1/2lbs) with a heavy-duty wedge gate design, a non-rising stem and a handwheel for easier operation at standard pressures. The handwheel can also be utilized as a carrying handle for easier transport of the valve. The 2286 is ideal for use on hydrants, pumpers & aerial applications to name a few. Inlets and Discharges are available in threaded 3", 3-1/2", 4", 4-1/2", 5" or 4" & 5" storz. The 2286's unique design provides minimal friction loss(Less than 1psi @ 1500gpm) and meets the NFPA slow close requirements.
