MSA Announces the Gasgard(TM) Family of Monitors


The Gasgard1 and Gasgard8 Monitors from MSA Instrument Division, Pittsburgh, PA, are now available. Using microprocessor-based technology, Gasgard units monitor toxic gases, combustible gases and oxygen deficiency. A cost-effective gas monitoring solution, the Gasgard family of products is designed to meet a wide range of monitoring needs.

Gasgard Monitors are the only controllers that offer 4 levels of alarm. Easily programmable, each alann level has an LED indicator and relay output. Relay contact positions are user-selectable. There is also a fault alarm and individual digital display for each channel. Gasgard Monitors are designed to work with any 2- or 3-wire 4-20 mA input signal. Selectable measuring ranges include PPM, % LEL and % Volume.

The Gasgard8 Monitor is assembled-to-order, so customers can select the exact number of channels needed, from one to eight. Additional features of the Gasgard8 Monitor include common alarm and fault LED indicators and relay outputs, and an alarm time delay for each channel. The Gasgard8 Monitor also offers RS-232 and RS-485 output signals. It is field expandable and programmable, and a software copy function allows easy programming of channel settings.

Both the Gasgardl and Gasgard8 Monitors feature audible alarms and common horns. Their compact size and versatility make them suitable for virtually any application.
