Industrial Scientific Releases T40 Rattler Single Gas Monitor
PITTSBURGH, PA -Industrial Scientific Corporation is pleased to announce the release of the T40 Rattler(TM), a new single gas monitor designed with low cost and superior protection in mind. The T40 Rattler, weighing only 3.5 ounces and equipped with a spring or suspender clip for attachment to clothing, belt or hardhat, protects employees from the dangers of carbon monoxide (CO) or hydrogen sulfide (H2S) exposure.
The compact, industrial-strength portable monitor is housed in a high-visibility, impact-resistant case, with superior radio frequency interference (RFI) protection for extreme work environments such as oil and gas fields, refineries, steel mills, power plants, firefighting, pulp and paper mills and wastewater treatment plants. A large liquid crystal display (LCD) provides continuous real-time readings in parts-per-million (ppm), and when low & high alarm setpoints are exceeded, the T40 Rattler will alert the user by activating audible, visual, and vibration alarms. A peak-hold feature, standard with all versions, captures and displays the highest recorded reading until it is cleared.
The T40 Rattler features a unique flip-cap calibration routine (patent pending) for functional ("bump") testing, or full calibration using a simple, push-button operation. The monitor operates for up to 500 hours on a single, replaceable AA alkaline battery and will alert the user to low battery life with audible and visual indicators. The T40 Rattler carries the UL, cUL and ATEX certifications and is classified intrinsically safe for use in Class I, Groups A, B, C and D (EEx ia IIc T4) hazardous locations.
