New Flamer Boasts Greater Efficiency and Safety

EAST DORSET, Vt. - Pad Print Machinery of Vermont has revolutionized its flame treater, adding a Piezo electric starter and a UV flame sensor for fuel savings and greater safety.

The new Gas Flaming device, used to pre- and post-treat pad printed plastics, improves adhesion by increasing the dyne level, making the surface more receptive to all printing inks and even adhesives, said Pad Print Machinery of Vermont President Julian Joffe.

"The new Piezo electric starter eliminates the need for a pilot light to burn all day long, thus conserving fuel," Joffe said. "Additionally, the new UV flame sensor lets you know if the flame is off and shuts the valve to eliminate the danger of gas flow without ignition."

These added features are part of Pad Print Machinery of Vermont's commitment to conservation and improved energy efficiency, Joffe said.

Gas Flaming is powered by any propane or natural gas tank with a regulator, compressed air and an electric-powered foot pedal. The operator can vary the speed of the flamer head, adjust the gas/oxygen mixture and raise and lower the support table for optimal surface treatment.

"The flamer can also be plugged in to a Pad Print Machinery of Vermont pad printer to run in an automated line," Joffe said, pointing out another potential savings to customers. The machine is also appropriate for use in a wide variety of other coatings, ink and adhesives application industries, including silk screening.

The Pad Print Machinery of Vermont Gas Flaming can also be customized by having burner nozzles of different lengths installed to work on surfaces of different dimensions.
