Original Press Release:

Gas/Fire Monitoring System has Four-Way Versatility

(MILFORD, OH) - A multi-channel gas and fire monitoring system from Crowcon is available in four configurations to suit different installations. As well as a standard wall-mounted unit in its own enclosure, Vortex can be specified in modular versions for incorporation into a variety of specialist enclosures or larger cabinet-based safety systems. All versions share the same proven internal components to provide up to 12 gas detection channels, including up to three for fire, as well as 24 user-configurable relay outputs to drive external alarms and safety equipment.

The simplest modular configuration, suitable for use where a display panel is not required, comprises just the essential input, output and controller modules mounted on a Modbus data transfer rail. An additional rail can be supplied to increase the number of outputs to 32. This configuration is ideal for confined spaces or specialist enclosures such as flameproof housings.

Vortex Rack combines these essential modules with a standard 19" rack fascia featuring button controls and visual status indicators. Designed for integration into existing rack enclosures, this configuration can be used to replace obsolete gas monitoring systems or to introduce gas detection to other types of rack-mounted equipment.

Finally, Vortex Panel is designed for flush mounting in a door or panel in non-rack enclosures, allowing gas detection to be added to almost any OEM monitoring system.

Crowcon's engineers can advise on the Vortex configuration most suited to a particular application. The Project Engineering team can also supply custom-built systems to match individual requirements.
