Garmin's® Fleet Management Interface(TM) Now Available to Fleet Tracking and Mobile Resource Management Companies

Garmin Fleet Management Interface to be used by GPS-Buddy and Beacon Wireless

BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 12 /- Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ:GRMN), today announced the availability of the Garmin Fleet Management Interface, a fleet tracking and mobile resource management platform available for the Garmin StreetPilot, nuvi and zumo series of personal navigation devices. This new interface lets fleet tracking providers and large fleet operators utilize Garmin's award-winning portable GPS devices as part of their mobile resource management solution.

"The Garmin Fleet Management Interface makes it possible for fleet management providers to deliver an all-in-one solution -- fleet tracking, messaging, dispatch and navigation information is all on the Garmin GPS," said Roger Jollis, director, OEM & mobile marketing. "This system allows fleet operators to substantially increase the productivity of their mobile workforce by downloading daily pickup and delivery stops, tracking the location of their drivers and vehicles, and communicating to the drivers through an intuitive text-based user-interface."

The launch customers for Garmin's Fleet Management Interface are GPS-Buddy and Beacon Wireless, two leading fleet management providers. Using the Garmin Fleet Management Interface, fleet dispatchers can send multiple destinations and other instructions directly to their drivers. With a tap on the screen, drivers can access detailed turn-by-turn, text-to-speech, voice prompted directions to their destinations. If a driver misses a turn, Garmin's navigation technology will alert the driver and automatically recalculate a new route to the destination. The dispatch center can also constantly keep tabs on the location of vehicles to ensure that new dispatch destinations can be sent to the nearest vehicle. In addition, owners and operators can be alerted to unauthorized use of their vehicles. Some fleet management providers can also provide statistical data that can be used in asset optimization programs.

The Garmin Fleet Management Interface is a proven technology platform supported by most Garmin StreetPilot, nuvi and zumo series devices. Additional hardware and web services, which are required to complete the tracking and dispatch components of the system, are provided by the respective fleet tracking solutions partners.
