Garmin GPSMAP 8000 Glass Helm-Series Integrates with FLIR M and MD-Series Thermal Cameras

Portland, OR – FLIR Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: FLIR) and Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN), announce the full integration of the Garmin GPSMAP 8000 Glass Helm-Series multifunction device and FLIR's popular M and MD-Series thermal night vision cameras. Boaters can now access and control FLIR's premium thermal imaging using Garmin's new flagship multifunction displays.

"This is an exciting collaboration with our friends at Garmin," said Lou Rota, FLIR's VP of Maritime Sales. "FLIR thermal night vision cameras and Garmin's flagship multifunction displays complement one another perfectly, making nighttime navigation easier, safer, and stress-free for all levels of boating."

Available in single (thermal only) and dual (thermal and lowlight or color video) payloads, the award-winning M-Series is powerful, flexible and built to last. Its waterproof gimbal enclosure provides 360° pan and 90° tilt, horizon-to-horizon visibility. FLIR's MD-Series is a more compact and affordable fixed-mount thermal night vision system loaded with features.

The GPSMAP 8000 Glass Helm-Series provides the most powerful, technologically advanced, and easy-to-use chart plotting solution Garmin has ever offered. The GPSMAP 8000 now includes complete control of FLIR Thermal Night Vision Systems, along with sonar, integrated autopilot, engine data, and more.

"We're very excited to integrate FLIR thermal night vision cameras with our GPSMAP Glass Helm-Series," said David Dunn, senior manager of Garmin marine sales. "Garmin strives to bring the most user-friendly, intuitive products to the market and now having the ability to access and control FLIR thermal cameras will make for an even better and safer experience for the boater."
