Gap-Free Classifier Eliminates Metal Contact

MILLBURN, NJ-A new Vibroscreen Gap-Free Classifier from Kason Corporation offers non-metallic material contact surfaces and quick-cleaning features designed to eliminate contamination of ultra-pure products.

The 60 in. (1524 mm) diameter classifier is configured with three screening decks for removing oversize particles and de-dusting the material, while separating on-size material into two size fractions.

Interior surfaces of the screen frames are clad with PTFE, and screens are constructed of nylon, eliminating metal contact as required for the most metal contamination-sensitive bulk materials.

The screener is also equipped with gap-free screen frames, quick-release "U" clamps, radius corners, a domed lid, an Air-Lift device to raise the frames, and continuous ground and polished welds, allowing rapid, thorough cleaning between product runs and changeovers.

The external, interlocking flange configuration of the screen frame fully envelops the support ring of the screen, allowing the screen's wire mesh to extend to the interior walls of the frame. The design eliminates the gap between the screen ring and frame wall of conventional screeners, where material typically collects.

The screener's "Air-Lift" system allows pneumatic raising and lowering of any screen frame section. Together with U-shaped quick-disconnect vertical clamps, the system provides rapid interior access for cleaning, inspection and/or screen changes, and allows one operator to perform what was previously a two-person task, depending on screen diameter.

The company manufactures a broad range of circular vibratory screeners, centrifugal screeners, and circular fluid bed dryers, coolers, and moisturizers.
