C & G Taurus(TM) Gantry Cutting Machine Provides Precise Motion Control, Smooth Cut

St. Louis - June 14, 2002- Exacting motion control for precise oxy-fuel and plasma cutting was a top priority in design of the C&G Systems(TM) Taurus(TM) precision dual side drive gantry cutting machine.

The Taurus, incorporating the Thermal Dynamics® Merlin 6000 GST(TM) oxygen plasma cutting system, creates ultra smooth cut surfaces utilizing a variety of motion control features. The Taurus comes standard with a Burny(TM) CNC 3 controller with 50-shape library and can be upgraded with the powerful Burny 10 or Burny 10 LCD. Direct drive precision planetary gearheads with high torque servomotors are additional contributors to the machine's motion accuracy. C&G's unique Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) drive amplifiers also lend machine motion control capability from 2-500 IPM (.5-12M/min.).

Cutting table features include rugged frame and rail components; tongue and grooved Tee rail; Burny CNC controllers; rack and pinion drive torch station and C&G's own Initial Height Sensing
plasma torch height control.

Taurus is designed to carry up to 10 cutting stations, including up to 4 plasmas, eight oxy-fuel stations and a marker station. Taurus is available in widths from 5' to 20' and can be pedestal or floor mounted.
