Original Press Release:

New Versatile Windows®- Based Gage Amplifier That Processes Gage Signals Fast is Now Available from Valenite Gaging Systems

New software provides customers with easy-to-use, reliable processing of gaging and machine compensation information.

Windows®-based software has become the preferred choice for machine controls. Operators and technicians have become familiar with the format, design, function and the ease-of-use. For those reasons, Valenite Gaging Systems has replaced the Model 766 DOS-based gage amplifier with the new Model 767 Windows-based unit. With the new 767 software, operators have a series of selectable screens that can display gaging and machine compensation information in a variety of formats, as well as provides statistical charts and information that can be stored on the hard drive or to a network drive.

The basic Model 767 Gage Amplifier uses a Pentium®-based industrial computer with a TFT active matrix color LCD display with a 20 gigabyte hard drive enclosed in a NEMA rated steel enclosure. The unit is equipped with CD-ROM and 3½-inch disk drives and an integrated mouse and keypad. There are two USB ports, an RS-232/RS-485 port, a VGA port and a parallel printer port. A wide variety of optional hardware items are available including; network cards, modular I/O, PLC control, stack light, printer, virus software and special hardware for digital indicators, columns, air converters, digital probes, linear scales and full or half bridge probes.

767 software uses a Windows NT/2000 Professional operating system that provides the operator with gage screens and an SPC package that includes; X-Bar, histogram, trend, capability, range, standard deviation, and measurement history charts, as well as tool compensation frequency, tool wear indicator, Pareto diagram, C, Np, P and U charts. The software also has password protection, a setup screen, and the ability to report, store, and archive data in GR&R, Excel or Text Report formats. The software can store multiple gage programs.

The configuration aspects of the software allow gage application programs and formulas to be created and edited. An optional SPC Enhanced Version is also available that uses Qstat® SPC software by Qdas. This software adds powerful gage data and numerical analysis for sophisticated statistical evaluation, with displays for just about every known type of SPC chart.
