G.722.2 (AMR-WB) Vocoder Supports Half and Full Duplex Modes

Toronto, Canada -GAO Research Inc. (www.GAOResearch.com) recommends this G.722.2 (AMR-WB) vocoder, which is ITU-T G.722.2 compliant and has passed all ITU-T test vectors. The G.722.2 standard uses a wideband, adaptive multi-rate algorithm. It is available for applications including video phones,audio/video conferencing and media gateways.

GAO Research Inc.'s vocoder provides both half and full duplex modes of operation and operates at rates of 6.6kbit/s to 23.85kbit/s. By utilizing a wide bandwidth of 50Hz to 7kHz, the G.722.2 algorithm provides higher-than-toll quality speech; the algorithm is ACELP technology enabled. Both the IP network and the 3G network use the codec which provides seamless interoperability.

All GAO's software are subject to the most stringent quality control procedures, which is reflected in its well structured code, detailed design documentation, and well-defined design and test plans. This ensures ease of integration into the user's system, easy maintenance, and a smooth upgrade path for next-generation products.
