Littelfuse Announces New RoHS-Compliant Nano²® and PICO® II Fuse Series

Fuses Meet Requirements for Restriction of Hazardous Substances

DES PLAINES, Illinois, June 23, 2004 - Littelfuse's ongoing eco-design strategy to reduce the concentrations of hazardous materials such as lead, cadmium and mercury is continuing to result in new, environmentally friendly products. The new Nano² and PICO II RoHS-compliant fuses meet the requirements of the RoHS directive for the reduction of hazardous substances and are compatible with higher temperature reflow cycles.

The new fuses offer the same performance specifications as existing Nano² and Pico II fuses but replace all external lead surfaces with approved substances. In the case of the RoHS-compliant Nano² product, Littelfuse has replaced the tin/lead metal finish on terminations with a gold finish on nickel-plated brass caps. In the case of the Pico II product, the 95/5 tin/lead metal finish has been replaced with 100% tin.

RoHS-compliant Nano² fuses are surface mount fuses available in subminiature and miniature formats including very fast-acting, fast-acting, Sio-Blo® (time delay), UMF, 250V UMF and surge resistant (Telecom Nano²® / TeleLink® telecom fuse) versions.

RoHS-compliant PICO II fuses are subminiature axial lead fuses available up to 250V in either very fast-acting, Time Lag or Slo-Blo (time delay) fuse versions.
