Bussman(R) SAMI Fuse Covers Retrofit Most Fuse Installations
ST. LOUIS-The innovative design of the Bussmann® SAMI, covers terminals and contacts to provide protection against accidental contact by maintenance personnel. The SAMI fuse covers help to comply with NFPA70E, Standard for Electrical Safety Requirements for Employee Workplaces. For example, the "dead front" design complies with Part 2, Chapter 2, Section 2- 3.8, Protective Shields. These shields are designed to help protect employees from shock, and accidental contact while working near live parts. The SAMI Series is available for Class J, RKI, RK5, H, K5, CC, G (0-30A), Class T (600 volt, 0-60A, non-indicating only) and Midget fuses. Voltage ratings include non-indicating 0-600 volt AC/DC and indicating 90-600 volt AC and 115-600 volt DC. Covers are available for fuse ampere rating range of 0-100 amperes.
Bussmann SAMI fuse covers feature an indicating light on the cover that shows when the fuse is open. This easy to locate indicator significantly reduces downtime by making troubleshooting easier.
All versions are reusable when a fuse opens. There are visual markings on the line and load side, and the end covers can easily be cut away, if necessary, to fit over existing wiring or to fit in most safety switches. Indication contacts have contact teeth to break through the oxidation on the fuse endcap or fuse blade, to provide a clear electrical signal path.
Bussmani SAMI covers fit Bussmann and most competitors' fuse blocks. The covers are UL Listed or Recognized and CSA Certified. One cover is required for each pole.
