Fundtech's Global PAYplus Solution Honored for Its Role in Enabling Bankgirot's Real-Time Payments Solution

JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Fundtech, a market leader in global transaction banking solutions, has won The Banker's Innovation in Technology and Transaction Banking Award for Best Payments Technology.

Fundtech received the honor for its Global PAYplus solution and the role the product played as the core processing engine for Bankgirot, a European clearing house operative within the Swedish market. Using Global PAYplus, Bankgirot, through its Payments in Real Time (PRT) system, was able to deliver the world's first real-time mobile payments clearing solution to the Swedish market.

The awards are based on research done by journalists at The Banker and determined by a panel of CIOs and CTOs from 20 of the world's largest bank.

"The Banker surveyed leading CIOs to pick its technology provider award winners," said Brian Caplen, editor of The Banker. "For payments technology they chose Fundtech on the basis of its excellent Global PAYplus Service Platform for high value, mass and immediate payments. The system's key features are a 24-hour real-time service and its integration with other data and systems which cuts down on risk. Congratulations to Fundtech on this triumph."

"With the implementation of a real-time payments system, Bankgirot achieved its goal of providing a unique payment platform that improves customer service and helps cement its market-leading position," said Gene Neyer, SVP, Product Management at Fundtech.
