Function Generator replaces Hewlett Packard HP8116.

Press Release Summary:

Providing 100% form-fit replacement for obsolete HP8116 function generator, Model GP1616 utilizes direct digital synthesis for stability and accuracy of full frequency range of 1 µHz to 50 MHz. It offers amplitude modulation and frequency modulation, as well as precision bursts for trigger, gate, and burst modes. Using internal non-volatile memory, GP1616 stores up to 10 complete sets of parameters and settings.

Geotest Introduces GP1616 Function Generator

AUTOTESTCON (September 15, 2006) - Geotest-Marvin Test Systems, Inc., introduces the GP1616, a 100% form-fit function replacement for the obsolete HP8116 function generator. With the firmware of the GP1616 being fully compatible with that of the Hewlett Packard 8116, Test Program Sets (TPSs) that make use of this legacy instrument require no code modification when replacing the HP8116 with the GP1616.

"The GP1616 provides a cost-effective solution for customers currently trying to maintain legacy HP 8116s," said Loofie Gutterman, Geotest president. "Geotest offers a complete line of Form-Fit-Function and functional system replacements to combat the growing problem of test equipment obsolescence."

The GP1616 Series utilizes Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) for stability and accuracy of the full frequency range 1µHz to 50MHz. It offers Amplitude Modulation, Frequency Modulation, as well as precision bursts for trigger, gate, and burst modes. The GP1616 Series provides internal storage of up to 10 complete sets of parameters and settings by using its internal non-volatile memory.
