Fume Extraction System comes in 208-230 V single-phase model.

Press Release Summary:

Equipped with ZoneFlow™ technology, FILTAIR® Capture 5 provides weld fume capture area up to 5 ft away. ZoneFlow extends capture distance by way of negative pressure zone that is designed to take air into extraction arm at 900 cfm and release filtered air at approximately 90° angle. System also utilizes FilTek™ XL filters that are rated at 15–16 on MERV scale. Operating after each shutdown, automated pulsed cleaning cycles help extend filter life and simplify maintenance.

Miller-Exclusive Fume Extraction Technology Now Available for 208-230 Volt, Single-Phase Power

The FILTAIR® Capture 5 fume extraction system with ZoneFlow™ technology captures weld fume up to three times the distance of conventional systems

APPLETON, Wis. — The FILTAIR® Capture 5 fume extraction system from Miller Electric Mfg. Co. is now available in a 208-230-volt, single-phase model, making it suitable for use in small shops, rural areas or areas in facilities without access to industrial three-phase power. The Capture 5 system provides a weld fume capture area up to 5 feet away, compared to conventional technologies that average a capture distance of 16 inches.

By increasing weld fume capture distance, the Capture 5 fume extraction system improves safety and reduces downtime for welding operators to adjust the extraction arm, allowing greater productivity on applications with long, continuous welds.

The new 230-volt, single-phase Capture 5 fume extraction system and the previously available 460 and 575 volt, three-phase model offer Miller-exclusive ZoneFlow™ technology. This technology extends the weld fume capture distance by way of a negative pressure zone that is designed to take in air into the extraction arm at a standard rate of 900 cubic feet per minute (cfm) and release filtered air at approximately a 90 degree angle. The negative pressure zone created by the dynamics of this airflow draws the weld fume toward the center of the arm, resulting in extended weld fume capture and a cleaner, safer breathing zone for welding operators.

The specially designed fume extraction arm creates less resistance, allowing stronger airflow, and also provides a full range of motion, so welding operators can easily adjust it to the desired position. No tools are necessary.

All three available models of the Capture 5 fume extraction system include high-efficiency FilTek™ XL filters that operate at low pressure differential to increase capture abilities and lower operating costs. These filters are rated at 15 to 16 on a MERV scale (compared to common industry rankings of 7 to 11), ensuring that they are capable of capturing an exceptionally high percentage of weld fume particulates. Automated pulsed cleaning cycles operate after each shutdown to help extend filter life and simplify maintenance.
