Packaged Fume And Dust Collector Offers High Performance, Ease of Use with Laser, Plasma Cutters

Jonesboro, Ark., April 2002 - A new "Gold Series(R) Package" (GSP) cartridge fume and dust collector that controls emissions from CNC laser and plasma cutters is designed to combine high performance with ease of use. The Camfil Farr GSP collector comes as a fully assembled unit with fan, controls, filters and automatic reverse pulse cleaning system. The user need only plug it in and start it.

The key to the new collector's performance is a patented, fire retardant "Gold Cone(TM)" cartridge that uses two stages of filtration to remove the fine dust and fume particles generated during laser and plasma cutting. This filtering element provides 99.999 percent removal efficiency on 0.5-micron particles, usually allowing recirculation of air through the plant for energy savings. In addition, the Gold Cone contains 50 percent more media area than a conventional cartridge, achieving the industry's largest airflow capacity in the smallest amount of space. The result is a highly compact design that delivers premium performance at a very economical price.

The Camfil Farr GSP collector uses a whisper-quiet (78 dB) fan that delivers 1,000 cfm at 16" w.g. pressure. Larger sizes are available for tables requiring more airflow. The rugged 10-gauge housing is powder-coated inside and out to protect against scratching and corrosion. Special safety and maintenance features include an easy-to-remove dust bin, a built-in spark trap, and a cam-bar system that allows trouble-free cartridge changeout with no tools required.
