Fully-automatic Size Changing on the Digital TLM Packaging Machine

Schubert to present automatic tool changing at interpack 2011
Crailsheim, Germany At interpack 2011, Schubert will be presenting the world's first TLM packaging machine which features fully-automatic tool changing and can therefore be changed over to work with different products. It has made fully-automatic size changing a reality. From chocolate Easter bunnies to yogurt cups, the change-over time is only 4.5 minutes. Underlying this is an enormous increase in the efficiency of the packaging process. It's a decisive step toward the ideal of digital production, which responds immediately and flexibly to changed conditions, works flawlessly and produces the smallest quantities with high productivity as part of a superior order system.
Anyone who produces snacks, cookies or chocolates would be interested in a TLM-F44 picker line, which picks chocolate bears from a belt and places them in packaging trays in continuous operation. What's new here is the mother tray, which is sealed in an upper film at the end of the line and then cut into portion trays. The stacking lugs stay in the web scrap. This could become a fast seller for a number of reasons. The process lowers costs, trays without stacking lugs look better and trays can be stacked on pallets during interruptions in the packaging area.
Another new item for the trade fair is a TLM packaging line for shipping cartons featuring an integrated TLM-P4 palletizer. Again, the idea here is to lower costs and work more effectively. This answers the question of why the TLM packaging machine shouldn't place shipping boxes directly onto the pallet.
The Schubert MES system is installed on all machines. Its development and practical testing have become highly advanced, and Schubert invites visitors to share their opinions. TLM packaging machines are taking on checking functions in the operating process and are therefore contributing to an increase in efficiency. When used well, an MES system can result in production process savings of up to 10%. The whole of production can be connected to the Schubert MES and consolidated upward as desired.
Trade fair visitors interested in technology can immerse themselves in the world of packaging robots with Schubert.
